We're working on Solstice, a single-player shooter set in a frozen, post-apocalyptic Canada.
Solstice / In developmentThird-person · Single-player · PC first
01 / The game
In developmentYou play as Carter, a tinkerer travelling toward New Toronto with a crew aboard a Via Rail train.
The Solstice's blade doubles as the train's throttle. Dock it in the cab to get moving; take it with you when you step outside. You can use it to fight and to activate equipment sent from the train.
Back aboard, spend time with the crew, cook, and get your gear ready for the next stop.
The setting
A planetary catastrophe has frozen the oceans and knocked out flight and wireless communication. The people left in Canada live in scattered colonies built around generators. Trains carry people and supplies between them.
Carter is a street tinkerer sent toward New Toronto with the Solstice. Over the course of the trip, he gets to know the crew and has to earn their trust.
Gameplay / In development
Every trip outside uses heat and supplies. Plan what you need, and leave yourself enough to get back.
While the train is moving, you can walk the carriages, talk to the crew, cook, and work on your gear.
Use the roof scanner to look for places to explore. Pack your equipment and bring one crew member with you.
You'll have a gun in one hand and the blade in the other. Weather changes your elemental attacks, and your Kindler heat shield needs cells to keep you warm.
When supplies run low, head back to the train. You don't have to defeat every enemy before you leave.
02 / In-engine prototype
This early in-engine demo shows boarding the train and travelling on it. It gives a sense of the atmosphere we're working toward.
